ISO-NUMBER CODIFICATION

The meaning of the ISO number codification relating to dental rotary instruments

Each instrument can be identified internationally via a clearly defined ISO number code consisting of 15 digits in 5 subgroups which simultaneously define the properties of the instrument.

  • B,C: shank and total length, e.g. 314 for FG
  • D: shape and design, e.g. 112 for a cylinder shape
  • E: grit or cut design, e.g. 524 for medium/standard diamond grit
  • F: size, largest diameter of the working part in 0,1 mm
